The Kitchener Panthers Rep Program

What is Rep Baseball?

The Kitchener Panthers Rep program is a travel ball program that allows youth players to play ball at a higher level. As a travel ball program, players suit up in the Panthers uniform and represent Kitchener in play against other city centres. Regular season play sees our Panthers rep teams playing other members of the Inter County Baseball Association (ICBA) such as Waterloo, Guelph, Stratford, Woodstock, etc. As members of the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA), our rep teams also participate in several tournaments throughout the province (or even in the US), as well as ICBA championships, and (if they qualify) OBA Provincial championships.

Our Teams

Kitchener Minor Baseball is proud to have one of the strongest and largest Rep programs in the province, all lead by NCCP Certified coaches.

The Rep Season

The Kitchener Panthers Rep Program begins in November with our 10u, 11u, 12u and 13u first teams starting their training.  The remainder of our teams begin in January of each year with our off-season training program. Our training program helps to prepare our Rep teams to field highly competitive teams once the season begins.

The 20 to 25 game regular season begins in May and runs until early August. Teams generally play 1 home and 1 away game per week and have 1-2 practices per week. Playoffs and Championships take place in mid-August to Labour Day Weekend. Weekend tournament dates and locations vary by team and are scheduled between May 1 and September 1. KMBA respects multi-sport athletes and we do our best to accommodate their schedules where possible.

Who Can Play?

Kitchener Panthers Rep teams are selected each year through tryouts in the fall. The program is open to 8U-18U players who reside in Kitchener, Roseville, Mannheim, Breslau, Maryhill, Plattsville or New Dundee. Those who live outside of this area will need to contact their local association to secure a release before a rep tryout opportunity can be granted with Kitchener Minor Baseball.
