Why do I coach?
I coach because I like to teach. I am a teacher by trade, so naturally was drawn to coaching a sport that I love so much. I also love to learn, about the game we love, and about the kids. How to best motivate and encourage players to help each individual reach their potential and achieve optimal team results is a passion of mine.
-
What is success to me?
Success means setting a goal and trying to achieve it. Maybe you do achieve it, maybe you don’t, but you are always learning and growing. Learning and trying your best to reach a goal is success.
Fun fact:
I got back into gardening a lot during the pandemic. We’ve grown a wide range of fruits and vegetables, including corn, cantaloupe and watermelon. #covidgardener #greenthumb

Why do I coach?
Working with and developing young athletes gives me great reward.  I coach because it provides an opportunity to see the potential in the players and it is our responsibility as coaches to bring out that potential and encourage them to succeed-
-
What is success to me?
Success is not determined or measured by wins and losses.  Success to me is challenging our players to be the best version of themselves both on the field and off.  True success as a coach is years down the road when our players look back on their minor baseball career and remember how much fun and rewarding it was being a Panther.
-
Fun Fact: Golf eventually ended my baseball career as that was where my passion led me.  I turned pro when I was 19 years old and never won a dime 🙂

-
What is success to me?
Success is found in the development of my players, and getting every last bit out of them on the field.
-
Fun Fact: I get emotional during team chats in victory and defeat. Often send an Assistant to make speech and hand out the hardware

Why do I coach?
-
I coach for the Panthers because I've been the biggest fan of the Panthers since I entered baseball.  Half my idols as a young child player are now coaches in the Panther system.  There's nothing like the Panther baseball community.  100 years!  Even in a hockey town.
What is success to me?
Success is in every detail of the game.  It's every progression you build into practice plans.  Success is everytime a player asks a follow up question and wants to know the game more.  Success is watching the ones that decide to grind it out and don't have time for excuses
-
Fun Fact: I weed a mean garden.

Why do I coach?
I coach to share my passion for the game, and to give kids a fun experience while helping them developing their skills
-
What is success to me?
Success to me is watching a young player work hard in practice, and the smile on their face when they accomplish what they’ve been working on, in a game.
-
Fun Fact:
Played competitive softball growing up. I never picked up a hardball until I starting coaching my son

Ken Schilling

Why do I coach?
I coach because I enjoy watching players grow as a baseball player and as a person.
I enjoy teaching players baseball skills and life skills.
I also love watching players become friends and good team mates when things are going good and when they face tough times.

-

What is success to me?
To me success is making sure that each player we coach enjoys and respects the game.
Success is making sure each player improves  and feels like he is a big part of the team.
Plus that they can hardly wait to get to the park to play a game or practice.
-
Fun Fact: I enjoy golfing with my friends and running the SMHL.

Why do I coach?
I love the game of baseball!  I bring this love and experience as a player in my youth to the teams I coach.
-
What is success to me?
My staff and I work hard to provide a space for individuals and the team as a whole to grow and improve as the season progresses.  Win or lose, seeing how the team comes together as the season concludes is great to be a part of.  Regardless of our accomplishments, we leave the field for the final time believing we competed.
-
Fun Fact: I have become a bit of a “Birdie” since spending so much time at home during the COVID shutdowns.
