KMBA Dispute Resolution and Discipline Policy (draft)

To ensure fair and equitable resolution of all disputes and disciplinary matters KMBA follows a structured approach to receiving and resolving disputes or disciplinary issues.

Please see the following resources:

  • Dispute Resolution and Discipline Process
  • KMBA Organizational Structure

Key points:

  • All formal complaints must be submitted in writing via the online contact and feedback form to be eligible to be considered by KMBA representatives.
  • Any complaints of an anonymous nature will be accepted for resolution and possible disciplinary action.
  • Complaints will be sorted into Financial, Baseball Operations, and Association Operations (see process chart)
  • A dispute resolution team will be assigned to the complaint for further action.
  • The team assigned will collect information from the subject of the complaint either through a hearing or via a written request.
  • All complaints from parents should first be addressed through a team Parent Rep where applicable. Teams are encouraged to have a Parent Rep selected by the parents by a formal vote once the roster is established.
    1. If escalation is required, the parent and/or Parent Rep will reach out to the Parent Relationship Liaison.
    2. If further escalation is required, the Parent Relationship Liaison will be included on the dispute resolution team.
    3. It will be the role of the Parent Relationship Liaison to assist the parent(s) in navigating the process and sharing their concern with the team.
  • The KMBA Arbitration committee will be the final deciding entity and all decisions made by the Arbitration committee are deemed final.
  • The KMBA Bylaws, the KMBA Policies and Procedures and the KMBA Code of Conduct will be the points of reference for all decisions.

For any issues that have legal or child safety repercussions KMBA will bring in the proper authorities to take over the situation.
