KMBA COVID-19 Statement
Kitchener Minor Baseball Association Statement on COVID-19
As more cases of COVID-19 (the illness caused by the novel Coronavirus) continue to be reported in Canada and worldwide, KMBA is monitoring the situation closely. At this time, all training activities will continue as scheduled. Should this change, families will be notified immediately on our website, social media, and by email. All decisions surrounding how or if this developing situation will affect our operations will be guided by the advice of Health Canada and the Region of Waterloo Public Health.
In the meantime, everyday actions can help prevent the spread of germs and viruses like COVID-19:
- Wash your hands often with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
Pro tip: Try slowly singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” while hand-washing to help ensure that you are washing for long enough to be effective.
- If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid contact with people who are sick
- Stay home when you are sick
- Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
If you have travel plans over March Break, please consider the Government of Canada Travel Advisories prior to travelling. If you are returning or have recently returned from travel to affected areas, please monitor yourself and your player for symptoms of COVID-19. If symptoms present themselves, please follow Health Canada’s recommended procedures.
